CC Metall AB produces staircase drawings, 3D models and fabrication documentation for stairs in steel, wood and combined materials.
The drawings can be used for quotations, material ordering, fabrication and installation. We work digitally with companies and private individuals throughout Sweden and the rest of Europe.
What is a staircase drawing?
A staircase drawing shows the shape of the stairs, dimensions, step layout, stringers, landings, fixings and connections to the building.
Clear drawing documentation makes it easier to:
-
compare quotations
-
calculate materials
-
plan fabrication
-
check dimensions and fixings
-
reduce the risk of errors during installation
What types of stairs can we draw?
We produce drawings for, among other things:
-
straight, L-shaped and U-shaped stairs
-
curved stairs and spiral staircases
-
stairs with landings
-
steel stairs and wooden stairs
-
indoor and outdoor stairs
-
industrial and service stairs
-
entrance, basement and loft stairs
-
custom-designed stairs
What can be included?
Depending on the project, the delivery may include:
-
3D model
-
assembly drawings
-
plan and side views
-
detail drawings
-
fabrication drawings
-
material list or cutting list
-
installation documentation
-
DXF files for laser cutting
Common delivery formats are PDF, DWG, DXF and STEP.
Staircase drawings for fabrication
The fabrication drawings can show profiles, plate thicknesses, cutting dimensions, angles, hole patterns, welds, bolted connections and separate components.
We can adapt the drawings to the workshop, metalworking company or joinery that will manufacture the stairs.
DXF files can be produced for items such as stringers, step brackets, base plates and other sheet metal parts.
Railings and fixings
Railings and handrails can be drawn together with the stairs.
Fixings and connections can be adapted to, for example:
-
concrete floors
-
timber floor structures
-
steel beams
-
walls
-
platforms
-
stair openings
Structural calculations and dimensioning are not automatically included, but can be ordered separately when needed.
What information do we need?
To assess the project, we normally need:
-
a sketch with dimensions
-
floor-to-floor height
-
dimensions of the stair opening
-
available length and width
-
photographs from the site
-
desired material and design
-
information about railings and fixings
-
existing drawings, if available
The information does not need to be professionally drawn. A clear hand sketch and photographs are often enough to get started.
How the process works

You send sketches, dimensions, photographs and requirements.
-
We review the information and request any missing details if needed.

A fixed price can be provided for clearly defined projects after the information has been reviewed.
Site measuring, structural calculations and major changes are charged separately.

Can the railing be included?
Yes. Railings and handrails can be included in the same CAD model and drawing documentation.
Can you adapt the drawings to a specific workshop?
Yes. The documentation can be adapted to the workshop’s materials, profiles, machines and working methods.
