CC Metall AB is a Swedish drawing and engineering company based in Gränna. We assist private individuals, housing associations, property owners, companies, architects, construction companies, structural engineers, workshops and other clients with drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
We work digitally with clients and projects throughout Europe.
Our services include:
- building permit drawings
- architectural drawings and design proposals
- structural engineering services
- structural drawings and structural calculations
- engineering services and technical drawings
- CAD documentation
- fabrication drawings
- drawings for cultural heritage projects
Our goal is to produce clear and practical documents adapted to the next stage of the project, whether they are intended for a building permit application, commencement approval, decision-making, quotation, design development, construction, fabrication or installation.
Drawings and calculations that work in practice
A drawing should not only look correct on a screen. It must also be understandable and useful to the people who will review, calculate, price, build, manufacture or install the solution.
CC Metall AB combines CAD and technical drawing expertise with practical experience in construction, metalwork, welding, fabrication and installation.
This practical background means that we consider questions such as:
- Are the dimensions clear and possible to verify?
- Is the proposed solution practical and feasible?
- Can the structure be manufactured and installed?
- Are connections and fixings clearly shown?
- Do loads, materials or dimensions need to be calculated?
- How are the loads transferred through the structure?
- Is there a risk of misunderstandings between the client, structural engineer, contractor and manufacturer?
- Is additional specialist expertise required?
This results in documents designed for actual construction and production, not merely for presentation.
Christoffer Eskilsson
Christoffer Eskilsson is the contact person at CC Metall AB and the author of the content on the company’s website.
The work is based on practical experience in construction, metalwork, blacksmithing, welding and installation, combined with CAD, technical drawing and the development of buildable solutions.
Each project focuses on understanding both the overall concept and the details. This may involve:
- how a building is to be altered
- how a floor plan can be improved
- how a load-bearing structure should be designed and dimensioned
- how a beam, column or fixing should be presented
- how a staircase or railing should be manufactured
- how a new detail should be adapted to a cultural heritage environment

From an idea to completed drawing and structural documentation
Many projects begin with a simple idea, a hand-drawn sketch, a photograph or existing documentation that needs further development.
We help clients organise the information and transform it into clear drawings, calculations and technical documents.
A project may, for example, begin with:
- a hand-drawn sketch
- photographs from the site
- existing building permit drawings
- architectural drawings
- older structural drawings
- archive drawings
- dimensions supplied by the client
- a CAD file
- a product that needs to be drawn or modelled
- a description of a proposed alteration
- a request for supplementary information from the local authority
- documentation from an architect, structural engineer or contractor
Following an initial review, we assess what information is available, what needs to be supplemented and which drawings, calculations or other documents are suitable for the project.

The fabrication drawings are adapted to how the product is to be cut, machined, welded, assembled, installed or manufactured.
Cultural heritage projects
We assist with drawings for older buildings and culturally or historically sensitive environments.
The work may involve documenting, recreating or developing:
- railings
- gates
- decorative metalwork
- fittings
- fanlight grilles
- entrance elements
- balcony railings
- other architectural details
The work may be based on old photographs, archive material, surveys, existing components and conservation documentation.
The objective is to create solutions in which proportions, materials, design language, buildability and practical execution work together.
The difference between our drawing services
The various types of drawings serve different purposes.
Building permit drawings primarily show the building’s position, design, floor plan and external alterations.
Architectural drawings are used to develop the project’s form, function, layout and visual expression.
Structural drawings show how load-bearing building elements are to be designed, dimensioned and constructed.
Technical drawings present dimensions, materials, connections, fixings and practical details.
Fabrication drawings show how a product or building component is to be manufactured and installed.
A project may require several of these types of documentation. We help identify which documents are required for the specific project.
Structural drawings and calculations
When a project affects a load-bearing structure, there must be a clear relationship between the calculation and the drawing.
A structural calculation may, for example, determine:
- the required beam size
- whether a column is required
- the required bearing length or support area
- the loads the structure must carry
- the required material dimensions
- whether the structure meets stability and deflection requirements
- how fixings and connections should be designed
The structural drawing then shows how the calculated solution is to be carried out in practice.
A drawing does not replace a necessary structural calculation, and a calculation normally needs to be translated into clear documentation for the contractor or manufacturer.
Modern projects and cultural heritage environments
CC Metall AB works with both modern construction and fabrication projects and older environments where details and visual expression must be handled sensitively.
For cultural heritage projects, the work may be based on:
- old photographs
- archive material
- existing building components
- measured surveys
- older drawings
- conservation documentation
- sketches from an architect or building conservation specialist
The objective is to find a solution that works technically and practically while also fitting into the existing environment.
How we work
1. The client sends the available documentation
You send us a description together with the available sketches, photographs, dimensions and drawings.
2. We review the project
We examine the material and assess:
- what information needs to be supplemented
- which drawings are required
- whether structural calculations are necessary
- whether existing structures need to be investigated
- whether other specialists need to be involved
3. The scope and price are established
You receive a quotation or cost estimate describing:
- the scope of the assignment
- the drawings and calculations included
- who is responsible for design, dimensioning and checking
- delivery formats
- price
- number of included revisions
- estimated delivery time
- any limitations or exclusions
4. The drawings and calculations are prepared
We develop the documentation and discuss important questions with you throughout the work.
For structural engineering assignments, the analysis may include loads, materials, geometry, bearings, stability and connections, based on the agreed scope.
5. The documentation is reviewed and delivered
The drawings and calculations are delivered digitally in the agreed format.
The client and any other responsible parties must review the documentation before it is used for a building permit application, commencement approval, construction, fabrication or installation.
Collaboration with the right specialists
Construction and fabrication projects may require several different areas of expertise.
Depending on the project, the following may be required:
- a structural engineer
- a building control or compliance coordinator
- a fire safety consultant
- an energy consultant
- a building conservation specialist
- a geotechnical engineer
- a building services designer
- a locally licensed architect or engineer
- another technical specialist
CC Metall AB clearly defines what is included in our assignment and which parts must be carried out, reviewed or approved by other qualified professionals.
When an external structural engineer or consultant is involved, their responsibilities, deliverables and costs must be stated in the quotation.
Where required, we can assist with coordinating drawings and technical information between the various parties involved in the project.
Existing buildings and concealed structures
For alterations, extensions or changes to an existing building, the drawings and calculations are based on the available information.
Concealed structures may differ from older drawings or from what would normally be expected. It may therefore be necessary to open or inspect walls, floors, roofs or other building elements.
Final dimensioning may need to wait until important conditions have been verified.
Projects throughout Europe
CC Metall AB works digitally with clients and projects throughout Europe.
This way of working makes it possible to receive photographs, measurements, sketches, drawings and other documentation digitally and to deliver completed documents without the client needing to be located near Gränna.
For projects involving building permits, structural engineering or public authorities, regulations, standards, loads, safety levels and documentation requirements vary between countries and municipalities.
For projects outside Sweden, it is therefore necessary to determine:
- which regulations and standards are to be used
- which national and local requirements apply
- which loads are to be used
- which language the documents should be prepared in
- whether local authorisation or signing is required
- whether a locally practising architect or structural engineer needs to be involved
This is assessed before the assignment begins and specified in the quotation.
What CC Metall AB stands for
We work with a focus on:
- clear communication
- careful and accurate drawing work
- clearly defined structural conditions
- practical and buildable solutions
- clear dimensions, materials and details
- respect for the specific requirements of each project
- an understanding of form, proportions and materials
- transparency regarding responsibilities and limitations
- drawings and calculations that can be used in the next stage of the project
Our goal is for the client to understand what is included, which documents will be delivered, who is responsible for each part and what may need to be handled by other qualified professionals.
